I call this piece Vermont, though I’m unsure of its actual location. The inspiration came from a black-and-white photocopy that fell out of a book while I was checking it in at my library job during art school. Adding color to it was a joyful process, driven by the excitement of not knowing where it would lead, including the unexpected addition of a false shadow.

I value how paintings can embrace abstract forms, misrepresentations of reality, distorted perspectives, and even ambiguity. These elements invite viewers to engage more deeply, offering a broader canvas for interpretation and personal experience.
